The Shed is a new model for an arts center that is designed to support creative ambitions across all art forms, including both the visual arts and performing arts.

The Shed was designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Lead Architect, and Rockwell Group, Collaborating Architect.

The Shed’s shell will move a few times each year to accommodate programming needs. Any occasions on which the public is invited to watch The Shed move will be announced on our social media accounts. Follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

No outside food or drink is permitted in the building.

Cedric’s at The Shed, operated by Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group, is an all-day bar and casual eatery in The Doctoroff Lobby inside our 30th Street entrance featuring a vibrant, shareable menu of cocktails and food. Food and drink are not permitted outside the lobby.

Please come as you are, and wear whatever you like.

For seated performances, you will be asked to remove any hats or items that are blocking the view of those seated behind you.

Performances may be recorded by The Shed for broadcast or promotion. Your attendance at an event shall be deemed as your consent to have your image or likeness appear in any video display or reproduction in whole or in part.

Yes, there is a complimentary coat check on the Mezzanine level. Bags and backpacks, including luggage, larger than 11 x 17 inches must be checked.

Yes, your bags may be searched by our security staff.

The Shed is an independent, nonprofit organization located on city-owned land in the Hudson Yards area, but it is not part of the Hudson Yards real estate development.

The Vessel and The Shed are adjacent but are operated independently of each other.

Generally, tickets are required for both visual and performing arts programming. Tickets can be booked online, over the phone at (646) 455-3494, or in person during business hours.

Ticket prices will adjust up and down based on demand as the event date approaches. Become a Shed member for early access to on-sales and to save up to 15% on ticket purchases.

The Shed is not able to guarantee the validity of tickets purchased through unauthorized third parties (e.g. ticket brokers, StubHub, SeatGeek, etc.). We recommend purchasing tickets directly from The Shed or TodayTix to avoid fraudulent tickets.

CUNY students receive free admission to our gallery exhibitions (excluding live performances in the galleries) with a valid student ID.

As a nonprofit organization, donated tickets are considered a tax-deductible contribution to The Shed, and we will issue a tax receipt for the face value of the tickets. Donated tickets must be returned at least 24 hours before the date of the performance. Ticket donation policy does not apply to orders for Here We Are.

Late seating and re-entry are at the discretion of house management and not guaranteed.
