Smorgasburg at The Shed

This summer, the largest open-air food market in the United States sets up an outpost on The Shed’s Plaza with 20 vendors showcasing food and drink from around the world. Smorgasburg is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11 am to 6 pm; entry to the Plaza is free.

While you’re enjoying the cuisine, explore the living history of hip hop in an installation on the Plaza designed for our Summer Sway series of events (we hope you’ll come back on Friday evenings for free performances by DJs and other artists).

Launched in 2011, Smorgasburg welcomes visitors across the country with markets from Brooklyn to Los Angeles and Miami. It has incubated hundreds of independent businesses, allowing many vendors to go on to thrive as brick and mortar shops, restaurants, and packaged-goods brands.
