Open Call: Group 4

POSTPONED
New work from NYC-based early-career artists and collectives

The Story of these commissions

When The Shed closed temporarily to help stop the spread of COVID-19, these commissions were postponed from their original performance dates in 2020. While some of these artists presented their work as part of Up Close, our online series of artworks, the remainder will present with the second iteration of Open Call beginning summer 2021.

About this commission

A World Premiere Shed Commission

Open Call is The Shed’s large-scale commissioning program dedicated to developing and presenting new works from artists based in New York City who have not yet received major institutional support. Panels of leaders in a wide range of disciplines—from the visual arts to digital media to theater and dance—reviewed more than 900 proposals for the first iteration of Open Call. They selected 52 early-career artists and collectives to receive support, space, and resources to develop their trailblazing projects at The Shed.
